Thursday - day 4

Shine your sink, get dressed, read today's reminders and now write these things down

Oh good. Should be okay for this!

Have already made a costly error this morning - saw that ds1 hadn't flushed the loo and decided to leave it - saving water and all that. Next time I turn round ds2 (13mths) is dropping clean clothes into it . Wouldn't be so bad if the washing machine was working

SuperMonkey · 27/09/2007 08:15

Shiny sink
All dressed before we came down (I've even got make up on)
Dishwasher empty
All written down

Now I've got the day to myself

flowerybeanbag · 27/09/2007 09:11

morning all

Sink shiny
Dishwasher empty
Shoes on
Dressed
Breakfast of toast and butter instead of Pringles
Kitchen surfaces and table wiped

This is really working you know!

flowerybeanbag · 27/09/2007 09:12

Oh, and washing machine going as well.

purple turtle what a nightmare! Is your washing machine getting fixed soon?

SAHMof1 · 27/09/2007 09:14

Ah ? sort of fell of the FLY wagon this morning ? I actually went downstairs in my PJs. It was that, or not have breakfast with DH at all, as he had only 20 mins before he walked out the door, and it takes at least that long to get DS and I dressed! It was important that we all have breakfast together as yesterday DH left for London at 5am and didn?t get in unitl 11.30pm so neither DS or I saw him yesterday! But as soon as Daddy went out to work this morning we came upstairs and we got showered and dressed pronto! So ?

Shine your sink done
Get dressed done
Read today's reminders done
Write these things down done

LOL about day to self

But will also do some laundry today. We really need it. Plus I need to do a nappy wash. I did clear out a bit of junk yesterday too, but not the FLYLady way, I?m sure! I am sticking to the baby steps!

I did read the reminders but I haven't written things down yet.

CindersNeedsHelp · 27/09/2007 09:41

SAHMof1 here, I?ve changed my MN nickname to ?Cinders Needs Help? in honour of what we are all trying to achieve here!

funnypeculiar · 27/09/2007 10:20

morning all
And sorry, PT, but slight snigger at your loo experience. We do tha water saving thing too, and I rushed in to dd this am just as she was about to put her doll into the loo

Right:
sink shiny & all washing up done
dishwasher on
perfume on (instead of shoes )
washing machine on
post-its not quite up yet - feeling a bit about that. Will try & face it later ...

Cappuccino · 27/09/2007 10:21

I don't do post-its

Cappuccino · 27/09/2007 10:23

oh by the way

when we used to do these someone used to put the link to the new thread each day at the end of the old one

is v helpful

trixymalixy · 27/09/2007 12:09

sink was shiny but now has cloths soaking in it, but will re-shine afterwards.

dressed to shoes
read re-minders
haven't quite got the post it up as am also cringing at it!

Oh and washing machine on for the third time!

FunkyGlassSlipper · 27/09/2007 12:21

I dont do post its but created a document on my desktop. Then when I am drawn to MN I check my housweork list at the same time..

numptysmummy · 27/09/2007 12:22

Sink shiney, kids all on time for school,1 load washing,1 drying. All done with shoes AND make-up on!
Must put some clothes away and hoover - want a day off tomorrow

purpleturtle · 27/09/2007 12:27

Don't worry, funnypeculiar, I thought the clothes in the loo was amusing, even at the time!

We are on Day 11 of broken washing machine. It's 16 months old and needs a new drum, new drum casing, and new bearings. Thankfully, it's under warranty thanks to John Lewis's marvellous free 2nd year warranty. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to provide any kind of urgency as far as Indesit's service department is concerned. Engineer came last Friday and provided diagnosis, but have yet to hear when they might come back.

Meanwhile we have been taking bags of washing to friends' houses, and ds2 is in disposable nappies.

Keeps the ironing down though.

SuperMonkey · 27/09/2007 12:58

Agreed on the post-its - I thought they looked a bit cluttered (which is saying something in my house!) so I've got reminders on my Outlook. I then get a rude reminder everytime I log onto MN.

bilblio · 27/09/2007 13:51

Dressed & hair done... the hair done is my version of shoes. I can't stand wearing shoes in the house.
Sink was still shiney when I came downstairs. It's a complete mess now as DP is baking bread, some plain white rolls and some garlic & sage rolls, but it can't stay clean all the time.

Not done the post-its, I don't like that idea either, but using notepad or Outlook is a good idea so I'll try to figure out some equivalent that'll work for me.

I'll be impressed if I achieve anything else today. DD has been very clingy and grumpy after having her jabs yesterday. This is the first time all day that I've managed to put her down and she's not cried. She's sat in her bouncy chair next to me and is actually giggling. I'm hoping it'll last.

MadamePlatypus · 27/09/2007 14:14

Well, so far sink has been shiny, but it isn't any more. I can say that I am dressed and have been since 8am. I think I'm going to rebel on the post-it too. We have only got a little shaving mirror and a big mirror in the sitting room neither of which would look good with a post it. I think this thread is a good enough post-it.

flowerybeanbag · 27/09/2007 14:15

I did find my post-its but couldn't bring myself to stick them up round the house, that is taking it a bit too far.

daisyandbabybootoo · 27/09/2007 14:25

i'm a bit late on here today, but....

dressed to shoes - yup
sink shiney - yup
read reminders - yup
sticky notes - yup.

we never get dressed before brekkie (DS ends up with it all down his school uniform if we do) and babyboo wants feeding "RIGHT NOW MUM" 1st thing but I've made a concerted effort to shower before the school run as somedays I do it afterwards. I need to work on getting the baby dressed as well.

I love the name change cinders ...thanks for your advice on my nappy thread btw.

cappucino.....sahmof1/cinders has been linking to the new thread

MadamePlatypus · 27/09/2007 17:17

silly question - are we supposed to do the reminders, or just read them?

pagwatch · 27/09/2007 17:20

Not doing the sticky notes as I will have to have long conversations with hubby about it and then DS1 will take the piss and put up notes with " wine @ 8 o'clock", " remember to wake up irritable and dishevelled"....
But I am using a note book and jotting reminders - so that will do.
Still liking the baby steps...

daisyandbabybootoo · 27/09/2007 17:36

madameP....we're just reading them at the moment......'tis babysteps after all.

LOL Pagwatch......I like "remember to wake up irritable and dishevelled"
