can I use my parking space as shed somehow?

hello everyone, I have a parking space at the lower ground floor of a building. because I don't have a car. so this space is empty. I am thinking about to use that place as a shed. I won't put anything very valuable in there. but something I want to keep. my parking space is an open space that anyone can access to. I am worried my neighbour kids will mess with my stuff there. they had played/throw away public own facility in water before. If I only use cardboard box to place my gardening item, shoes, electronic item there. I am afraid those kid or someone else will search/mess with those box. can I lock my stuff at my parking space somehow so people can't easily search/mess with them? I have no clue of how to that. Anyone has any idea? thank you in advance for any suggestion.

I wouldn't consider it. Fire regulations would make this an absolute no no.

Doesn't sound a good idea if I'm honest. In a public space your stuff will be there a few days max before kids have a rumage, or people presume it's junk no one wants...

My friend’s flat has an underground space. Most spaces have a lockable storage cupboard or trunk at the back edge against the wall.

You wouldn't have the items insured, not worth the risk in a public space?

My colleague did this and seems to work fine. Think it was a small neat one though

Can you fix something like this at the back of the space? Check what the management company say before committing to it.

a friend suggest I can rent a cheap old car to park at there then put my stuff in car. because I don't even have a car and I can't drive. I don't know if that will works at all. maybe I am being too selfish. when I see other people use my parking space for free. I feel a bit uncomfortable but it's difficult to rent out my space now. especially this area we live is leasehold, I am not allowed to rent it to other people who doesn't live here. the another reason I want to use this space is because I plan to sell my flat to get a bigger one. I am kinda worried potential buyers won't buy my flat because it's so compact with stuff and doesn't looks nice. I have think about to rent a self storage nearby. then hire someone to move my stuff to there. so my friend suggest I can rent a car to park at my parking space and leave my things there.

Renting a car is much more expensive than renting a storage locker!

ThePlantsitter · 01/07/2020 22:19

A friend bought an old van to do this. It worked fine.

Vlin. Yes and in a very upmarket development a few people did I understand.
