How do I know if my vent dryer is clogged?

You need to check it. Move the dryer and inspect it. It should be cleaned once a year at very minimum.

DH takes the back off every so often and gives it a proper clean out as it can be a fire hazard, I think fluff sometimes misses the filter. Sometimes a new pipe is needed but they are quite cheap from places like espares
