Am eyeing up stacking food storage with the coloured lids and also the stacking bowls.
Does anyone have them & do they wear well?
Currently have quite a mish mash of things & I think these would please DH (although he can pry my old pudding basins from my cold dead hands).
Generally I don’t find plastic mixing bowls that good, but perhaps these are different.

I don’t know if I’m just hoping they will somehow just magic up space in my somewhat overstretched & badly organised cupboards. Tia.

I got given the rainbow coloured set of bowls 10 years ago. Still use daily :)

My rainbow set of bowls / sieve colander and measures is still just as beautiful as when I got it years ago (slightly melted but bowl as I put it on the hot hob) but it even survived that 😂. I love that everything stacks into the bowl

I’ve got the rainbow stack and the baking blue / green stack and they are both absolutely brilliant. Very useful, wear well and look lovely I still enjoy using them - and they bring a bit of joy to relentless kitchen jobs! I’ve never had a bad J&J kitchen thing, actually.

DH has been a SAHD since he took over from me 5 months into my first maternity leave. He bought a load of J&J stuff in the sale to kit the kitchen out as he'd not really ventured in there before, and it's lasted well - DS is now 5 and the stuff is still going strong. Stacking coloured mixing bowls are good, as are the nesting plastic boxes. We have a few other bits that work well too - the combined utensil pot/knife holder/spoon rest is good, as are the chopping boards (I prefer wooden but DH loves them, particularly the chop to pot one which folds, and the one with holes in for peeling veg onto). The circular pizza cutter isn't that good, and I'm not bothered either away about the sink sponge/cloth/washing up liquid holder, although it is neat. Knives have lasted well. Always a sale on and/or TK Maxx/Home Sense usually have loads.

Can only echo previous posters, great to grab them in TK Maxx but so very worth shelling out for at full price.

Bowls are good, nesting boxes are not. The lids aren't flush, they bend easily. Doesn't seem to be airtight and wouldn't trust them with anything liquid.

May I suggest the cutlery drawer insert though? Saves so much space having the cutlery stacked on top of each other in compartments.

Oh wow, thanks for replies! They’re a groupon offer, so not full price.
I’d idly glanced at the chopping Boards, but I do like my wooden one.

Cutlery insert sounds amazing though I will definitely look for that!

Love their stuff. Probably not that easy at the moment but TK Maxx often have some of their stuff in.

We have the stacking bowls, they are years old and in good condition. I love the rice cooker and the potato ricer.

I love them but in some sets when one of the stacking things is in the wash, the whole thing falls apart. I have the utensils on a stand and basically you can never use the ladle. The bowl with measuring spoons is better as long as you never use the large bowl and the colander on the same day. The chopping boards are fine.
If you want to save loads of space, look at Tefal Ingenio saucepans. They gave me a whole cupboard back plus they all go in the dishwasher.
Also, I have some no name foldable silicone tupperware and it’s pretty good.

The steamer insert is rubbish, once you have it in the saucepan there's no space for the veg!
I bought it at a car boot sale so clearly someone else didn't want it either.

We had the folding chopping board but it only lasted a couple of years - it broke apart where the folds are.

@GirlCalledJames I just looked at the utensils and that is infuriating!
I do like the look of the cutlery drawer thing, I’m going to measure my knives to make sure they fit first though. Would love some more space in that drawer.
Am also looking at the pans. We could probably use some new & space saving again would be amazing.

Yes the bowls are good (though don't like the microwave) but the colour coded boxes are rubbish, not watertight and the seals cage off all ours. It was a while ago though so they might be better now.

I have the extending dish rack and the washing up bowl with integral plug. Both make me happy every time I look at them.

A word of warning, the handle on one of our folding boards has just come off. Probably 4 years old and not used that much...

Don't buy the ice cube tray - ours snapped in half within two months

The garlic rocker is great but only is you get the fully metal one, I had the one with plastic handles first and it broke, my friends did the same. Now have the metal one.

I’ve ordered the cutlery holder, will give the tubs a miss, to be honest, we don’t really need more Tupperware.
I’ll have. A think about the bowls.
We have a set if bathroom things which are good although the colour has bleached quite a bit.

Omg @GirlCalledJames Tefal Ingenio would change my life 🤦🏻😂

Love JJ stuff especially the colour coded boards with knives, pricey but worth it.

WoollyFoolly · 04/07/2020 09:05

I love JJ stuff. I have the bowls (grey not rainbow) and use them constantly. It's very rare that they are all stacked together though, usually something is in use. Also have the knife block with the knives with a little lip so when you put them down it holds the blade up off the surface - genius! Also love the JJ garlic press, it comes apart completely and is very easy to scrape/clean.

GirlCalledJames · 04/07/2020 10:43

@AGoodYearfortheRoses I got it when baby no. 1 arrived because I was sick of washing up by hand so it’s 3 years old and almost as good as new. Can really recommend it.

I've got loads of it. All the chopping boards, bowls, utensils and the garlic presser, which is great for someone with arthritis instead of having to squeeze a crusher.

Report
SeasideArms · 04/07/2020 14:11

My knives are now falling apart Confused The rubber where the blade goes into is disintegrating and the blades are corroding. One literally fell apart in my hands. I can't remember how long I've had them, but I always hand wash them, as directed. JosephJoseph are not interested. I will not be buying from them again.

I am still in awe at the sheer genius and simplicity of their spaghetti measurer. I also have the washing up liquid caddy and the set of four chopping boards in the grey case.
