Vinyl floor ripped beneath tumble dryer

In pulling out my tumble dryer, I have ripped the vinyl flooring beneath in several places. Fortunately not a great deal is visible but the rips are now poking out from beneath the machine and are significant underneath. When the tumble dryer is on, air must go underneath the flooring as the ground in the whole kitchen seems to raise and loosen. Will this get worse if I leave it or will it be OK? I’ve tried covering the rips with duck tape but it doesn’t seem to hold and each time I pull the machine out to meddle and push it back in again, I’m making it worse.

DH, infuriatingly, ripped our newly laid vinyl when pushing our fridge freezer back in place. As it happens the fitter didn’t have the door strips to put down between out kitchen and dining room so had to come back so, when he did come back, DH asked if he could help. He peeled back the vinyl, put clear silicone on the back then pressed back down and scraped and wiped off the excess that came through the cut bits.

Maybe gets some of these though first, it was a valuable lesson for us.
