Steam mop woes!

Oh I'm just so annoyed at myself this morning.
Have a steam mop, and although I was told not to, have been putting a capful of disinfectant in the water to make it smell nice.
Of course now it's broken 😩
Feel so mad at myself!!!! Anyone thinking a little bit won't hurt..... it does.

I’m always curious with these threads as to whether it’s the disinfectant that has broken the mop or if steam mops just have a really short life. What makes you think it was the disinfectant? X

I have read that it affects the element in it somehow?
I'm replacing it and 100% won't use anything other than plain water next time!
Can't possibly be anything else, I've only had it a couple of months.
