We have a large kitchen bin - kind of a traditional dustbin style thing. The bin itself doesn't stink, I've had a good sniff when changing it. But it seems to release lovely odours into the room whenever I pop something in.

I know one answer is to change it more often, but we're in a flat with communal bin storage about 17 miles away, so realistically that's not going to happen.

Which bins keep the smell in better ? Ta

Oh - and cheaper than brabantia if poss!

Try sprinkling cat litter (unused!) in the bottom of the bin itself or the bag if you want less mess. That alwasy seems to absorb the odour in my bin.

My mum showed me a good tip the other day.
She took the remaining few bits of lavender off my plant and threw them in the bottom of the cylinder.

Works a treat.

Bicarb of soda sprinkled on the bottom or some shake and vac might do the trick.
