Barbecue Cleaning

It is that time of year when DH thinks I have the night off from cooking when he barbecues. I shop and I prepare and then spends hours cleaning the think before my next 'night off
From cooking'. Does anyone have any tips or miracle product for barbecue cleaning. I just spend hours up to my elbows in nasty greasy water.

Oven cleaner works quite well - spray on then attack with a wire brush.
DH also seems to think it is great for me - all the preparations and cleaning up is done by invisible elves!!

Wire brush it before it cools down, then stick it in the dishwasher!

If the grill part comes off, stick it in an oven pride bag with the cleaner. Comes out spotless.

If you have a flat, metal section on your BBQ, use non-stick baking paper on it next time before you cook. It keeps it clean and nothing sticks.

Get him to do it!

You need a non stick BBQ grilling mat! They are available really cheaply on amazon or eBay etc. You pop them onto the bbq and put the food on top, you get the grill lines on the food somehow through the mat. I was really sceptical but a quick wipe with kitchen paper or a run under a tap afterwards and they come up like new. Game changer!

I’m Australian. I rarely clean my bbq plate. No one is dead yet.

Dishwasher same as @PlugUgly1980

I put mine in the dishwasher.

Ndn have a gas one and I don’t think they ever wash the grill. Every time they start it up you smell rancid fat burning off 🤢🤢🤢 dh says have you ever noticed you don’t see the same people have a meal there twice.
