Cleaning a Dyson Animal (The vacuum, not an animal made out of Dysons)

We have a Dyson animal that we’ve had for several years. To begin with I’d only have to clean the filter once a week, but performance seems to have slowly degraded and I’m cleaning the filter every day, as well as checking the sweeper head and checking the pipes.

Is there some additional cleaning of the device I should be doing?

Have you pulled the little pipe out that is at the back near the wheels. I often find a blockage in there
