New curtains smell of BO!

A couple of months ago we bought some new thermal/blackout curtains from Dunelm, but in the last few weeks (maybe from having the warmth of the sun on them) they have really started to smell of BO. I’ve used a whole bottle of febreze on them which only helped for a couple of days.
Has anyone else had this isse and managed to get rid of the smell? I wondered about trying a different fabric spray that is a little stronger (something like Envii which is meant to elminate smells with probiotic bacteria but is mainly aimed at bedding/urine smells?) or even cover with bicarbonate of soda and hoover off after an hour?
They are huge floor to ceiling curtains so I can’t really wash and dry them.
Any help much appreciated as they stink! x

Stick them on the line. In this wind they will get a good airing! No clue what else to suggest.

I've had the same problem - twice! There must be some chemical in their blackout curtains that causes the smell. I tried airing them on the washing line for a whole day but it didn't work. I sprayed them with Febreze but it didn't work. I popped them in the washing machine (even though it says dry clean only!) and although they came out fine, the smell was still there. I washed them again which was a mistake as it did make a few small holes in the white lining. In the end the smell did wear off but it did take some months. I have seen on Mumsnet that others have had the same problem with Dunelm curtains.

Oh my goodness I have this problem too!
Just bought curtains in September, from Dunelm. They’re blackout... the last month or so the room smells oniony which is closest to how I can describe it.
I’ve turned the room upside down cleaning and deodorising, perhaps this is the source!?!?

Mine did this but it faded after about a year. Ok now.
