Carpet Beetles

But not on the carpet!

Spotted a few tiny beetles on the window frame in the kitchen and google tells me they are carpet beetles. www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/news/health/health-risk-uk-carpet-beetle-2455917

I got rid of them but a week later there's even more. We don't have any carpets downstairs and no soft furnishings in the kitchen. Any ideas?

Watch them carefully to see if you can work out where they are going. There may be a nest somewhere. They like the area between the carpet and the skirting board so hoover that carefully. You can also buy sprays from Amazon to treat the areas of the carpet where you've seen them.

They come in through the windows at this time of year. Also, the worst infestation we had it turned out was due to a dead bird carcass which had mummified in our chimney, so you need to be quite sure you have no debris/food etc exposed or lying around anywhere which might sustain them.

We got rid of our infestation be meticulous cleaning and hoovering in every crevice, under every piece of furniture daily, and never allowing any clothes/ papers/ etc to be left on the floor.
