Preventing water marks on chrome

Is there some secret trick to keep chrome taps/etc shiny? I clean them with Viakal and then usually a glass cleaner. But as soon as someone washes their hands I can see the water marks coming back. Drives me mad!

spray regularly with method daily shower spray.

the specific viscosity and surface tension properties of water means that it beads on surfaces and then evaporates, leaving behind a residue of minerals that can't evaporate.

the daily shower spray just slightly changes the viscosity and surface tension of the liquid that condenses and drips onto sinks etc, so that it drains off down the plug before it has time to evaporate.

once a day is fine, you just spray it on and leave it, no need to wipe.

Spray and buff with lemon oil.

I have isopropyl alcohol I use aswell to buff and shine and I find I don’t get as many eater marks.

Thanks all for the suggestions!

@mommybear1 Do you need to use shiny sinks daily? Or will one clean keep it for the week?
I like a shiny tap, but I'm also lazy 😂

🤔 I do mine every other day but since Corona Corona I've had to do my Dad's cleaning - his kitchen and bathroom seem to last a week I'll be totally honest and say the bathroom one is not amazing after a week BUT my Dad's eyesight is poor and I think he literally throws water around 🤣 we also live in a very hard water area. I love this stuff though I even use it on my stainless steel appliances I prefer baby oil to completely eradicate marks and shine up if MIL is coming but this does a good job otherwise 🤣.

For the shower I just dry the taps after I use it (just with a corner of my towel). For the sink I give it a spray of vinegar and buff with microfiber every 2-5 days I'd say.

It's the water that causes the water marks, so drying the taps after use with a cloth or corner of a towel will stop them. Realised this when i replaced my satin nickel mixer tap with a chrome one, so now I keep a dry cloth handy just for that purpose.
