Can you advise me on grill oven please?

Please forgive me when writing this. I have Aspbergers, so I'm not very good at getting across what I mean very well.

I have a Creda fan oven with a built in grill, I've had it for 14 years, and recently I tried doing some Tesco burgers on it. The burgers were spitting in my grill and set my tin foil alight which scared me a bit, so I finished them off in the oven. Now when ever i switch my grill on, it flips the electrics and turns my mains off. Do you think that when I caught it alight I damaged the elements?

We are now in lockdown and no electrical shop is open, should I get my grill looked at? i do have a George Forman grill machine I can use, but no one has really showed me how to clean an oven or grill.

I can't help on the oven but the George foreman cleaning. I just wipe it while still warm with kitchen roll then use a damp soapy sponge if needed then a damp one to wipe off any soap
If you clean it while still warm it's easier
