Washing machine stinks!

I was out of washing machine cleaner and couldn't get any so I did a hot wash with some thin bleach and soda crystals. 2.5 hour empty cycle, extra rinse then left it open for 24 hours to dry out plus cleaned all the rubber seals and draw.

I have just used it for the first time since cleaning on a normal 40 wash and all the clothes stink of dirty drains!
It didn't smell before my diy clean but I thought I'd give it a good wash before making a start on washing new baby clothes.
Any idea where I've gone wrong and what I can do to fix it?

Have you cleaned out the filter? Did you remove the drawer and clean the bit the drawer fits into? I'd repeat the hot wash treatment and clean any bits you didnt do before

Sounds like you have a backflow problem where the dirty drain water is draining back into the washing machine.
Make sure the drain hosepipe is free of kinks and check this website on trouble shooting

Thanks you for replies, yes I cleaned everything with a brush!
@PlanDeRaccordement they could be it I'll get DH yo pull it out and check the hose. My cat was messing around behind there yesterday so maybe he's moved it out of place
