Is there a way of getting very grey and slightly stained old white towels back to gleaming or not? Thanks in advance!

can you get some of that Vanish stuff...maybe give them a soak in that, or some bleach?? Nice hot 90 wash after and some line drying on a sunny day?

Having said that I find the only way really is to ONLY wash white towels together on a 60 wash... and not let dh bung them in with random things. minger

Try Glo White.

Vanish platinum white, M&S white bio washing liquid, I. A 60 wash only do whites with whites, do the light grey separately, pure fabric softener not to much , I always press the extra rinse button on my machine, 1600 spin if you have it. Hang on line to dry better on a sunny day

Get some violets mineral bleach. Soak the towels, wash and hang out in the sun.

Astonish do a version of vanish not tested on animals.

I do the extra hot wash and extra rinse. You can try using twice the amount of detergent as well. Unless you already use loads.

YY Fluffy Astonish Powder ( I get a huge tub of it t=in The Range )

I use white towels , hand towels and flannels .
Hot wash , scoop of Astonish and Tesco / Waitrose Bio ( Tesco is better out of the two)
Hang out in the sun.

I mop round the bath and basin ( and the loo) with a used hand towel before it gets washed . They do it in big hotels .
