Hi How do you all clean bathrooms? Toilets, sinks, baths, showers. I have 4 bathrooms and I find its so time consuming......
Any tips and advice please

Do you use all the bathrooms everyday?

TheoneandObi · 18/04/2020 17:22

Once a week. But we're past the wee splashing stage here, so toilets get their own little clean midway through the week

wondering7777 · 18/04/2020 17:24

Not as often as I should - it’s by far my least favourite job Sad

Pickles89 · 18/04/2020 17:24

Urgh, I hate cleaning bathrooms! The very worst part of housekeeping. Presumably, if you have 4, there are at least 2 adults/teens at home? Divide and conquer.

Parker231 · 18/04/2020 17:25

Normally have a cleaner but at the moment we obviously do the cleaning - divide it up amongst us all.

Does take more than 15 minutes.

Parker231 · 18/04/2020 17:25

Doesn’t not does!

HeartZone · 18/04/2020 17:35

Separate cloths for loo v other areas.
Disinfectant.
Polish mirrors glass.
Empty bins.
Fresh tiles.
Totally agree with divide and conquer.
Five here, set clock one hour at least four of us get scrubbing one-two rooms each, or one vacuum throughout, one bathroom, etc
Meet for celebratory coffee cake when it’s over (eaten outside of course!)

Northernsoullover · 18/04/2020 17:38

I just clean as I go. Toilet gets done every day. Sink every few days and the shower probably once a week. The floor is small so I just vacuum and wipe it when I do the vacuuming.

Northernsoullover · 18/04/2020 17:40

Toilet roll is the best cloth for the loo. I just flush after I have sprayed and wiped.

barneymcgroo · 18/04/2020 17:46

I have a two year old DS who has a bath every night, so something gets done while he's in.

SallyLovesCheese · 18/04/2020 17:51

Well, I only have one bathroom but I clean the toilet quickly and vacuum every day. Then I do one different thing in the bathroom each day as well.

So, Monday I clean the bath, Tuesday I do the mirror/cabinet and window, Wednesday deep clean toilet and sink, Thursday shower screen and tiles, Friday mop floor/clean skirting boards. Saturday I wash the towels.

Each day it takes me no more than 10mins max (except the wait for products I've sprayed) so you could do every bathroom each day in 20-30 minutes, probably.

But it depends how big they are, how much they get used and how much the other people in your house help, I suppose!

HedgeHogFoxBadger · 18/04/2020 21:26

Thanks for your replies. So I have a downstairs bathroom which doesn’t get used too often. Then a bathroom on middle floor (townhouse and lounge on middle floor) which gets used a bit. Then en suite in my dd bedroom. Top floor bathroom which gets used a lot.
I can’t figure out if anti abc wipes are enough for toilets and sinks or a full on bleach clean?

Staff??

It must be such a trauma to plan cleaning of your 4 bathrooms.

wowfudge · 18/04/2020 21:33

Lots of newer houses have a bathroom per bedroom plus a downstairs loo.

Inforthelonghaul · 18/04/2020 21:34

It takes literally 5 mins to wipe the basin and mirror then spray and wipe toilet. The bath gets a quick wipe down and rinse every couple of days and once a week the shower is given a wipe round. I do our bathrooms most days, it only gets time consuming if you leave it to get dirty.

nevergoingoutagain · 18/04/2020 21:40

Toilet cleaner in loo, bleach spray seat etc.

Then wipe over sink and run hot water. Spray shower/bath with cleaner and wipe over with hot wet cloth. Rinse with shower head. Dry glass shower screen with a towel/tea towel.

Loo brush toilet, wipe seats with loo roll and flush. Run loo brush under hot water in sink, spray with bleach and put back. Wipe rest of toilet with dedicated toilet cloth.

Clean sink with spray and wipe over mirror, drying with towel.

Finish chrome work and glass with visual and a dry microfibre cloth.

Hoover floor, empty bins, mop change towels and bath mat.

I have 3 bathrooms and a cloakroom. I hate cleaning them! I try to do one at a time do usually one every other day. All the toilets and sinks get done again as it's on my kids job list. I also clean my kids toilets ad hoc.

The downstairs cloakroom gets done more atm as that's where we wash our hands when we come in.

Defo bleach?

I pour it in the bath and down the shower tray.

nevergoingoutagain · 19/04/2020 07:35

Just realised ....visual I mean viakal!!

nevergoingoutagain · 19/04/2020 07:38

Also I don't use wipes as id use so many and I try not to use disposable stuff. If I want to do a quick clean I just bleach spray and wipe over with hot wet cloth. I have the cheap white kids flannels from Ikea that come in a pack of 10. I just chuck in washing machine when done and it gets done with my next wash. (Try not to put bleach ones with a coloured wash though!)

NunchukNinja · 19/04/2020 08:38

Def loo paper for cleaning the loo (and loo brush) can’t face having a cloth hanging around that cleans the loo. We have one fam bathroom and downstairs loo. I do thorough clean once a week on a Saturday morning and tend to wipe down bath, sink or loo every time I use them. No one else does anything in my house... my fault though. Covid has helped though, I kicked off a week in about State of bathrooms kitchen!

I saw a thing on tv the other day that said develop a code For using cloths, pink for sink, blue for loo...

ShakespearesSisters · 21/04/2020 08:14

I'm bloody lucky my house has 4 bathroom (1 loo, 2 ensuites, 1 family bathroom) as 2 are now out of commission and I cant get them fixed due to the current situation. Last week we noticed water dripping from the kitchen light. I'd just emptied the bath. Turns out the pipe is cross threaded and leaking, because its cross threaded I can't tighten or loosen it. So no more baths. And a set of kitchen lights out if action.
Yesterday the saniflow wouldn't turn off in our ensuite :-( , just kept running. I think the pump has died, so another bathroom out of action as cant fix that at the moment either as the saniflow engineers are closed for our area even if they could come.
Today I have to clear the other ensuite (which is really just a storage space normally) so we can have a shower.
I wonder how long until I knacker that one?
So, nothing to do with cleaning loos sorry, although the storage ensuite has not been used for 4 years so Imagine there will be some serious dust once i remove everything.
