Recently moved into a dream of a house.

My kitchen drawers are at least double the width of my old one, and I haven't yet had a chance to sort a storage system for them.

So I've got kitchen knives, wooden spoons, spatulas, etc. all in one drawer sliding around together, and it's Freaking Me Out.

I could just get a simple divider to keep them separated and safe, but I'd then have the box sliding about inside the the drawer. But I'm almost certain there are loads of genius ways to sort a drawer like this that I would never think of on my own.

So... what do you do? Or what WOULD you do if you had a big wide drawer like mine?!

I've got a divider with a gap to put the knives in, same for forks and spoons. The top of it where the teaspoons would go is where I put my little spatulas. There's an extra gap where I put my tin opener, spirit measure, measuring spoons, a plastic spoon and some skewers.

Next to it, quite snugly is a divider with three rectangular gaps in it.

First one has a tea strainer and dish, a garlic press, a pastry brush, a veg peeler, a novelty bottle opener and some skewers.

Next one has a half cup measure, a corkscrew, a pair of tongs, a balloon whisk, a palette knife, a plastic spatula, an apple corer, the pestle from a pestle and mortar and some skewers.

Next one has the cling film and foil in it.

Next to that is a gap which has a packet of batteries in it and a box of Cooks matches.

My wooden spoons and plastic serving spoons are in a utensils jar. This where my ladle and fish slice and other balloon whisk live - this one's plastic. The one in the drawer is metal and much better.

Knives are in a knife block on the kitchen counter top.

I only have one utensil drawer and a pot on the side. Pot holds all wooden spoons/spatula. Drawer has one of these racks from ikea in it (widthways as it won't fit front to back) and everything else (masher, whisks etc) are in front of it. In cutlery drawer there is an extra hole for corkscrew, peeler and other smaller utensils

I used a mat in the drawer to stop things sliding. That way I didn't need dividers as everything stayed put
