Hi

I keep finding these little big type things (photo attached) in random places. They don't seem to come from one area/stay in one area I have found them in bedrooms/bathrooms/living room etc. My Dad said they were dust beetles but I am not so sure I keep finding more at the moment I don't know if it's the nice weather. What are they and how do I get rid of them? Photo isn't great on size but they are about 1mm long tiny but annoying! Thanks

Looks like a carpet beetle

@ofwarren thank you! Yes I've just had a quick google at the images and it seems they are carpet beetles of the common variety so I'm definitely not posh even when it comes to bugs! Thank you for your help I'm off to burn the house down now Grin.

I see them occasionally around my bedroom. Did a big clean a couple of weeks ago and haven't seen them since. Didn't find any signs of infestation. But now seem one in the lounge, argh!

I can't clearly see on the photo - if they have tiger stripes (grey, yellow, orange) then they are carpet beetles.
I have had a recent issue with them. I have never seen one before until a few weeks back and I started noticing them on my windowsill every time I opened a certain window. I witnessed them coming in.
I thought urgh silly normal little garden beetles please stop losing your way and flying in my window.....
Until it kept happening and I googled the little shits :@
I found more in an undisturbed back bedroom, many more.
I have binned anything they could have laid eggs on, hot washed other stuff and hoovered manically, even under the edges of carpets, where I have them.
I'm afraid to open windows now but I'm not getting new ones in but the bedroom is pretty much empty now and I'm still finding the a couple a day when I go in and check. I've been using peppermint oil but I'm going to get some proper insecticide to stop their life cycle and hopefully that'll do the job properly.
Apparently they're a nightmare to get rid of if they take hold.
