Tidy Tip collection without car

We moved into our first house some months ago and we have some garbage (mainly lots of cardboard, but also some wood, electronics and a large gas canister) that we would like to get rid of. Is there some good way to get it to a tidy tip without having a car? Neither of us have a driver's license, so we can't use a car ourselves.

[the tip in our area is currently closed due to the corona virus, so this question is more for when it opens up again]

You can usually find "man with a van" (or woman) on Facebook but there is always the worry that they will fly tip.

Can you not just ask a mate and buy them dinner/takeaway after as a thanks?

Tips may not be open at the moment. Ours is closed.

Our Area does bulky rubbish collections where a container visits locally and you can dispose of most things foc. 4 times a year (although next one is cancelled). Ir hire a skip. Gas canisters usually have to be taken back to a retailer.

Ours is only currently open to those with waste transfer licenses, so a man with a van and proper license may be able to help

Have you looked at hippo bags? You can order online, they do different sizes and the delivery/collection is contact-free?

Thanks a lot for the answers.

I have contacted our council about bulky rubbish collections to see if that could be an option, even though we have a lot cardboard. If it is not feasible I will look at "man with a van" hire.

The gas canisters generally have a deposit system and so if you take it back to a supplier you will get money back. Don't tip it.

Thanks, I will look at if I can return the gas cannister. It was left by the previous owner, but hopefully I can see if I can return it anyway.

just to confirm that you must make sure that anyone you hire shows you their waste disposal licence. Otherwise you are paying a fly tipper. And that applies in normal times too.
