Any hopes of a plumber?

Our washing machine has broken down, with all that implies. Could I get some non-judgmental advice about whether there is any hope of getting a plumber in here in these times of lockdown?

I wouldn't expect a plumber to fix a washing machine unless the problem is that the water isn't getting into it. Surely you need an engineer.

No harm in making some phone calls. I think it's still allowed to call trades in for essentials, if they are still open. We are not getting our dishwasher fixed because it's not an essential, but washing machines are far harder to manage without.

Like the PP, I would ask a domestic appliance person rather than a plumber.

If you can't get anyone in, you could consider buying a cheap one from Eg Argos.
