I split into whites, mixed lighter colours and dark colours. Mainly done on a 40⁰C wash with the odd 60⁰C for towels/bedding. Sometimes use 30⁰C if the article specifies it

I mainly use a 40degree quick wash (60mins) for the majority of things.

Towels get a 90degree wash, bedding is a 60.

I have a real issue with washing and really over think how to separate it:

Gym clothes get washed separate from all other washing with different detergent no fabric softener and washed ASAP.

Work uniforms get washed as a separate load.

Other general washing gets split, white, light & dark and washed as and when there's a full load of each.

Thank you

I just do whites (which includes the odd pale grey T-shirt) and colours. Both on 30.

Sheets and towels go in on a 60 wash.

difficulttod · 05/04/2020 18:04

I do whites, colours/darks. 60 for anything soiled, eco mode for everything else which I think is 40.

BAMBI7111 · 05/04/2020 18:05

@HelloDulling what program do you use

I don't separate etc. Everything gets washed on 40 degree. Full load on 3 and half load on quick wash! Everything then goes in the tumble dryer. I'm really lazy. Life is too short

littlebabybumm · 05/04/2020 18:06

I do whites, lights, bright colours, darks and towels as separate washes. Although I always argue in my head with myself as to whether the white towels go in with the whites or the towels Grin

30 deg 30min fast wash blacks, coloured with extra spin at 1600. Non bio liquid tabs, no fab conditioner.

40 deg 45min with extra 1600 spin for whites, flannels, nappies and bedding. Non bio tab with nappisan or astonish oxy-action. No fab conditioner.

Cottons 40 with liquid for darks
Cottons 50 with powder for lights
Cottons 60 with powder for towels
Synthetics 60 with powder for bedding (lower spin and deeper rinses so less creasing)

Powder contains oxy bleach - great for lights, whites and hygiene. Liquid doesn’t so better for darks and colours that run.

I never use quick wash. Quick washes don’t wash or rinse as well and often leave a lot of residue behind in the clothes. I delay start the washer a lot and do longer cycles over night so they’re ready to dry in the morning.
