Has anyone got one ? It's a fabric thingy that you place potatoes into and then microwave for 4 minutes.
I bought one and it certainly didn't take just 4 minutes. After eight minutes it was cooked on the outside but not inside 😱
Is it another useless gadget or am I just doing it wrong ?

It only takes about 10 minutes to microwave a baking potato (depending on size)

My mum has one and swears by it! She gave me one for Christmas, but I really don't think it does speed up the cooking time! I've never done a side by side comparison, but I too always need to cook them longer than the suggestion on the packaging. I do find the potato is cooked all the way through though- when cooked long enough.

I didn't even know these existed ! They will steam the potato so in theory it'll cook quicker but it'll be all wizened and soggy not fluffy and floury that you get with an oven baked potato.
I suppose it saves the mess of peeling off kitchen paper or if it explodes !

I've never put kitchen paper on a microwaved potato. They dont explode either if you pierce the skin with a knife several times first

WTF? Stab it a few times with a sharp knife, microwave 5 mins, flip over and repeat.

you've been suckered, sorry.

perfect micro jacket potatoes microwave five minutes turn over five more minutes squeeze them gently to make sure they are soft all the way through (you will feel if they are not) then ten minutes in a hot oven to crisp the skins cut and enjoy
