Washing machine broken aaaaaaargh! Recommendations please

Our washing machine has broken - can’t get repairman in and it is 8 years old so thinking of buying a nice shiny new one. There is a good Samsung for £500 or I could really splash out and spend £900 on a Miele with a ten year guarantee, shorter wash time and quieter. Never spent that much on any white goods before and it feels a bit decadent, but hey, got to take our pleasures where we can get them at the moment, and with 4 kids, I need a decent washing machine. Any thoughts? Madness? Or are they worth it?!

Come to our senses and gone for the cheaper one. Moment of madness over. Nothing to see here.

Good choice. For £900 it would need to go to my bedroom and pick up the dirty laundry for me!

Sorry I didn’t see this yesterday and now I am too late.

If anyone else clicks on the thread, there is a Miele washing machine at John Lewis reduced to £549

P.s. paid £500 for mine in 2003 and it has not missed a beat.
