How do you use Zoflora?

I posted on the coronavirus thread but got no response.

I have bought some for it's disinfectant properties, but not sure how you are supposed to use it.

Please advise!

Dilute as directed in the bottle. Put in spray bottle. Squirt and wipe.

nicknamehelp · 27/03/2020 18:28

Either dilutued in a spray bottle. Or dilute in a bowl and wipe round with a cloth. or dilute and soak cloths im to clean.

Bilboard · 28/03/2020 07:10

I sometimes put it in the washing machine, where you'd put the conditioner....

GoldenHoops · 28/03/2020 14:00

I use the lemon zing in the bathrooms and the pet one diluted in a spray bottle to spray before I use the steam mop. Don't put it directly into the steam mop, it breaks them.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 28/03/2020 14:01

Does it really not say on the packaging? Confused

UntamedWisteria · 28/03/2020 17:40

The packaging tells you the dilution strength, and where you can use it.

It does not actually say how you use it - spray and leave, or wipe etc.

No need to be snarky ChicChic. It's not an unreasonable question to ask people on here. Life is shit enough already at the moment.

Thanks to everyone else for your helpful suggestions.

Spray and wipe OP. Also can be poured neat into toilet brush holders, sinks and washing machines for fresher smell. It's great if you wipe your radiators down too as when the heating is on you can smell it. Their website is great and gives you tips to use it too!

MikeUniformMike · 29/03/2020 15:41

Use it according to the instructions then just as you would use disinfectant.

dumpling123 · 29/03/2020 16:05

I love Zoflora! Use it in washing machine with towels and bedding (just pop a capful where fabric softener goes). Spray bottle as people have already said for general house use (be careful if you have pets - they shouldn't be allowed near surfaces you have zofloed until they're dry. If you have stinky shoes / runners, bit of Zoflo on a folded piece of kitchen roll and pop directly into shoe - they'll smell much better (you can do same with kitchen bin before you put in bin liner).
Zoflora website have lots of tricks and tips too www.zoflora.co.uk/usage-and-tips/

user3274826 · 29/03/2020 16:08

I just use it to mop with.

Deathraystare · 05/04/2020 15:18

I sometimes put it in the washing machine, where you'd put the conditioner....

That was a great tip thanks. Made my housecoat and sheets smell lovely!

ellanwood · 05/04/2020 15:21

I use a capful in every wash of towels, tea-towels, bedlinen and DC's sports clothes and shirts, as it's a great neutraliser of odour. Also, diluted as suggested on the bottle, in a spray, for surfaces including floors. Stronger solution for mopping up if cat or kids have been sick. It's the only thing that successfully gets rid of the smell.

pinkmummy1 · 05/04/2020 15:29

I use it in a spray bottle for everything. Also I like to spray my curtains with it instead of fabreze. It's good to use a cap full neat in the toilet last thing at night aswell.

Sloff · 05/04/2020 15:43

Open bottle, pour entire contents away, rinse thoroughly, replace top and recycle bottle. Buy something non allergenic that doesn't stink to high heaven. Use bleach to clean house.

ellanwood · 06/04/2020 11:47

Is Zoflora allergenic? I sneeze at anything but I love Zoflora. It's much easier on the lungs than most cleaners that come out of a spray bottle, except Method.

Zoflorabore · 06/04/2020 11:52

For any Zoflora fans on here there is a new one out which is absolutely beautiful and smells exactly the same as Alien which is in my top 3 favourite perfumes...

It’s called Midnight Blooms and is in a sort of purpley/pink box.

Another tip is to douse a couple of cotton wool balls in Zoflo and then Hoover them up. The smell then travels around the house wherever you Hoover.

EcoCleaner · 06/04/2020 14:20

The problem with zoflora and mistake that people make with it is that it’s a good disinfectant but not a good cleaner. Same as using bleach. It’s very easily desensitised by organic matter. So to get the full disinfecting effect:

Wash surfaces with hot soapy water or multipurpose cleaner first and allow to dry.
Then go over with Zoflora to disinfect.
Never mix it with other cleaning products as this denatures the disinfecting agents in Zoflora, rendering it useless.

The contact time for Zoflora is around 5 minutes, so just wipe off any excess and allow to air dry.

UntamedWisteria · 06/04/2020 18:20

Just to be absolutely clear to everyone on here .... I'm only interested in Zoflora for its disinfecting effect.

The smell is only important insofar as it's better than the house smelling of Dettol or bleach.

My preferred house smell is fresh flowers from my garden and fresh country air coming through my windows.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 07/04/2020 11:05

I tried the hoovering up cotton wool soaked in zoflora trick.

The good news... My hoover no longer smells (I've cleaned every bit of it, but I think it's something in the motor/air flow.

The bad news... You have to leave the room for 5 mins with the window open after hoovering.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 07/04/2020 11:21

I sometimes pour a capful down the kitchen sink then follow it 10 minutes later with a kettle of boiling water. I have a spray bottle with some diluted in which I use as a normal kitchen spray - spray and wipe with a j cloth. I love the smell.

tobee · 09/04/2020 02:00

@AndNoneForGretchenWieners or anyone if I put zoflora in an old spray bottle with the correct dilution I assume it stays the same disinfectant strength? Sorry if this is a daft question.

Lordfrontpaw · 10/04/2020 11:25

I went to buy some for MIL recently (we used to use it when DS was a vomit monster in the car when he was little). Is it just me or us the price rocketed? I used to buy it in the pound shop.

anon03 · 10/04/2020 11:30

Midnight blooms is my absolute favourite.

I soak wash cloths in it in boiling water, dilute and spray on surfaces and wipe down , use a damp cloth with it on to wipe down shelves, toilet lid, sink etc.
