Dead mouse

About 5-6 days ago a horrible smell started in my living room. It smelld like a dead mouse and it's coming from the arm of my Sleep dogs couch. I flipped my couch and undid the upholstery on the arm and can't find it. Then I thought about a glass I saw laying on the arm of the couch and maybe the dogs spilled a glass of milk my granddaughter left on the table I've shampooed it twice to no avail. Short of putting my couch outside on my porch has anyone had a mouse die in their couch they couldn't find and if so did the smell go away

It could be milk. We once had done on the carpet and it was awful. Took lots of scrubbing and antibacterial to get rid of.

Thank you! I hope it is I'd rather it be milk than a mouse. I'm about to take the matress out and cushions off and put it out on my front porch. It's not like we are going to have company ant time soon

Yes, I've had a mouse die in my kitchen. I tried to get to where I thought it was, but my builder friend said the smell is notoriously deceptive and I could tear my entire kitchen apart and still not find it. The smell went after a week. Was horrible, but short live. Shame it had to happen now!!

Yep had several die in the kitchen over the years the smell goes after they decompose. We had a new kitchen last December and builder found several skeletons in the corner. New kitchen is made to fit so no chance of getting behind the units and croaking!
I am getting a new door soon and have chosen a stable door so I can have it open all summer. That way we have fresh air but no little friends sneaking in.

We live in the country.
Try Bi carb on the couch leave on for a while then vacuum off it might take the smell if it is milk. Milk does go sour and stink. Light a candle.

Have you got any bluebottles?

Milk absolutely stinks. I used vinegar on ours. Smelt like a chip shop but then the smell of milk was gone.
