Dishwasher - Bosch or Miele?

That's it basically . Looking at spending about 500 pounds which seems to be possible with an older Miele model. Both reviews say loading isn't very easy but performance in every other aspect is good. Thanks.

I have a new lowest price Miele - the reason for this is I don’t know whats next for us in life. I might emigrate, move within UK. I have always previously had a toppish of the range Miele, in more than one property. So honestly : There are advantages and disadvantages to the new layout of the bottom rack. I find the spacing interval for plates better. I don’t like that the drop down section that used to run all across the back only folds half way across the basket width at the front, but still both supports do fold. I have noticed there are more plastic components in the machine itself - they function the same now, but I’m less convinced it will have the longevity of my old machines ( but perhaps I have been spoiled by old quality build It might still be lots better than the competition for all I know )Which have both lasted 20 years one in a holiday home was bought second hand on ebay. is still going strong < touches wood > I find it better for plates but has less flexibility for the pots and oven dishes I use frequently. I could Tetris the shit out of the capacity of the old layout. If you look on the JL.com webpage you will notice < I didn’t > thats a lot of plates in the bottom of the illustration of the 549 pounds one. It does clean well, it is quiet, you can fit a lot of plates in it, it is better than washing up yourself, the longer tines on the bottom to each side offer better support for bake o glide and thin chopping boards ! My Husband loves it - he does not have my ninja arrangements skills and would just do two washes instead. I have used lots of air bnb dishwashers and found them noisy and not any more flexible than our home one. Also if you have Marie Condo-ed and only own three wee saucepans you’ll be fine, put them on the cup rack basket to wash.

I've had a Bosch dishwasher for 7 years, it's always worked perfectly in that time. It replaced an 18 year old Bosch, which never had a repair until it finally shuddered to a halt. In short, I highly recommend them - and have never had a problem loading it. I like Miele as a brand, but am very impressed with Bosch dishwashers. You'll get a decent one for well under £500.

Miele are not of the quality they used to be. Our family washing machine growing up was still working after 20 years! My Dsis is on to her fifth machine in this time and her fifth is on his last legs.
I’d go Bosch personally.

There have been issues with the dishwashers too.

I have a Bosch it is ten years old and have used it most days.

I've had both, replaced an old Bosch with another Bosch last year that was faulty. They tried to fix it five times before we were allowed to buy another one. We got a Miele, it's not as great as one we had about 20 years ago but it works well, more than I can say for the Bosch.

@Idontkowmyname have you seen EBAC washing machines? watch the you tube clip about them including why they choose not to chase a Best Buy award, I have bought 2 new washing machines in the last year and if I had known about these guys I would have tried one instead.

I always had Boschs but mine have broken reasonably quickly so this year we got a low end Miele. The quality is much better.
Also moved from a Bosch washing machine to Miele this month. It is beautiful, so quiet but far too earlier to say about how long they will last,

I had a Bosch one, died after 2 years , now have a Beko which I'm pleased with
