Toothbrush storage - warning, this thread is Dullsville

Those tumbler type toothbrush holders. People don't actually fill these with water and rinse their mouths do they? They always have a crust of toothpaste and inter-dental food debris surely?

Or is it just mine and you keep yours clean enough to use?

Mine v crusty. Put it through the dishwasher three times and still not clean so I gave up. Never occurred to me to use a tumbler for water, I just scoop some up with my hand
