How to get beautiful smelling baby clothes!

I've tried everything, they smell ok but not like that "oh my goodness" smell! I'm currently using fairy capsules and fabric softner. Any advice?

I find line drying my clothes always gives a lovely smell. Just about the weather for it now.

Why do you want them to smell of artificial scents? Especially for a baby?

It’s nit necessary and might even expose the baby to unwanted air pollution.

Babies smell good enough on their own.

I used fairy powder and comfort pure and always thought they had that lovely baby smell coming out of the washing.

I agree they need to dry on the line for this though, in the tumble drier just loses the smell.

Baby clothes shouldn’t smell!

I use minimal detergent and no fabric softener on my DD clothes. I want minimal nasties on her skin.

I am washing mine is plain unscented soap-based powder and rinsing them several times to remove all the smell! They now smell like clean cotton and will enable me to smell the beautiful baby smell rather than synthetic scent when I finally put them on my baby!

If there's a particular scent you want, then surely you'd just use that powder/liquid/conditioner?

Comfort pure smells lovely! Reminds me of mine being babies.

I put lovely smelling baby soap bars in my son’s clothes drawers.

For my own clothes I put Nesti Dante soap bars between my clothes and my mum swears by a cute (cotton or linen) bag with dried lavender from her garden.

All of DSs stuff is washed with comfort pure. I love the smell.

Don’t use fabric softener. Hang them outside on sunny days.
