shower drain cleaning

just moved into a nice house with a lovely walk in shower (its lush!). when I wash my hair I know I moult! I have long hair and in the old house it was a shower over bath and I always had to pick loads of hair out the plughole. The shower here has a mushroom shape shower drain cap (I think thats what its called). How do I keep that draining freely, so it doesnt get clogged up or nasty?

You can get covers like sieves to trap the hair before it goes down the plug.

Search for drain protector or hair catcher 😂 I have one did our bath and it's brilliant.

You can just pull it off and fish away to your heart's content (I find mine holds on to the hair so I can just remove and then clean), or you could take it off and use a sieve type thingy as I better said.

I got a hair catcher drain cover thing from Lakeland but I find the water doesn't drain through it very well so end up ankle deep in shower water/shampoo and then the suds and hair collect in a slimy mess on top Confused

had a look and yes the mushroom bit comes off and theres a trap underneath to remove hair.
