I have a large house and it's just me cleaning it.
I want it tidy but it feels like such a huge job as renovations were finished last week that I don't even know where to start.
So I've started nowhere!!

I have a big pantry and utility so the kitchen should be spotless. The kids have a playroom so their rooms should be clear but we don't have enough storage.

Where do you start to make a real dent???

I've got no excuse but it just seems like a huge endless job ......
Thank you for any tips and advice.

If you don't have enough storage you have too much stuff. Either downsize what you have or get more storage.

Tackle on room at a time

Have a look at the organised mum method. Start with boot camp. She’s good at motivating.

Make a plan and do room per day.

Do jobs you least want to do first, to get it over and done with.

Put on some lively music to encourage you.

Factor in treats. Ie. If you clean xyz, you’re allowed a chocolate biscuit/watch Doctors/ etc.

Start small. I work outwards from the kitchen each day. Dishes- clear away surfaces- bins- wipe surfaces - clean floor,
Then tidy hallway, bathroom and do a quick pick up of other rooms.
Then tackle something that needs doing, but in the expectation that I’ll only get a bit done and will come back and do more later (stops me sinking into inertia)

Put on a good podcast to distract yourself. I love a slob comes clean for funny and very practical decluttering advice
