HELP!! Gone a bit overboard on the air freshener....

bit of background:

Used to smoke, gave up. Been having the odd one (I know, naughty squonk) and I just felt like having a fag before so I locked the kids in the front room and had one in the hall.

Twas lovely and all that, but then the hall, stairs and landing smelt of smoke, so I sprayed loads of air freshener.

Now there's that claggy, pervasive smell of air freshener which gets right to the back of your throat and I can't get rid of it, and it's right as you walk in the front door, and it's giving me a headache. What can I do to get rid of it.

This shall be my penance for that very illicit cigarette

open as many windows and doors as poss, throw away the air freshener and cook something that smells heavenly (and blame the slightly smoky whiff on the oven!)

aaah, never thought about using my disastrous cooking to cover it up!

have opened what doors and windows I can.
