Has anyone ever washed their sofa cushion covers themselves?

I have a Next Garda sofa in a beige colour and it is in desperate need of a clean. It does say clean in situ but I'm so tempted to have a go at putting the covers in the washing machine on a low temp hand wash cycle.

Has anyone washed theirs themselves and had any luck? Thank you

I put them on wool.. then on wool setting in rumble dryer. Put them back on when they are damp and then they'll shrink to size over cushions. Was much easier than I thought it would be.

I have the exact same sofas as the OP. I washed the covers on a short, wool setting and line dried them. They did shrink a little. There is no way I would risk tumble drying them.

The cushions all looked old and misshapen very quickly.

Mine did as well. These sofas were not a good buy at all. Next won't even sell me new cushions to replace them.

I did this with out last sofa, but do be aware it will remove the fire resistant coating sofas now all come with, in addition in some cases it can make it kind of glue up.

It's really better to use a carpet cleaner with an upholstery attachment.
