7 year old Dyson 41 just made an odd noise and died. Strange burnt smell too. Filters washed out and left to cool down and same thing happened when I switched it on again. 😳 Pretty fed up as they just don't seem to last like the old Dyson war horses- this one was covered in cracks and bits had fallen off.
House is fairly big- 4 beds, 4 reception rooms- mainly carpets but hall, lounge and sitting room are wooden floors along with tiles in kitchen and bathrooms. One hairy dog who moults a lot so need something good for that.
I was pretty set on not having another Dyson ( have had three of them in the past 25 years or so). My dad has the newer small ball one and it just seems so flimsy and plasticky and I really don't like the faff with the hose ( my old one you just lifted up and attached the thingies to the end. )
I was almost sure that I was going to go for a Shark liftaway but I went to Curry's yesterday and they are so heavy and clunky. The liftaway thing looks like a good idea but seems really heavy- (the Dyson has a long hose so you don't have to lift it up the stairs. ) I have heard that Sharks are amazing to start with but then lose suction.
Don't like Henrys or cylinders. Thinking of going to a stick model (MiL swears by g-tech. Air am) as I want something light that's easy to whip in and out of the cupboard but read mixed reviews. Prefer not to have bags. Also strangely fascinated by the robot ones as I absolutely hate vacuuming.
Don't want to spend a fortune but up to £350ish ok
Any suggestions?
