Washer / Dryers - are any decent?

Had one 10 years ago. Washing was fine, drying was not!
Have they moved on? Is there a good one out there?

Sorry, but I can't help because I'd be hard pressed to name one. A combined washer/dryer - a relatively new one and a known make - was already in our house when we moved in four years ago but after struggling with the poor drying function, I lost all patience and bought two separate machines.

When you think about it, it's asking a machine to do two completely contradictory jobs. Something has to give.

We had an indesit one at our old rental place which came with the house. It was pretty good. I would consider buying it again, but we are now getting 2 separate machines.

Our aeg one was crapola. Dh swears it was the best thing ever. Guess how much laundry dh does though?.

I am looking for one four out holiday flat . I want a heat pump one, but I don't think they make one yet? I don't really have room for two appliances.

I have the 10 kg Bosch washer/dryer. It was one of the top-rated by Which?.

Dryer is fine for trousers, pants, socks, towels. I don't put sheets or tees in because they tend to wrinkle.

The items come out steamy hot, which feels at first like they aren't really dry, but they are, you just need to let them cool for a minute or two. I use dryer sheets but apparently you aren't supposed to.

It's fine for one person or a couple, but I think a family would struggle with it.
