Dust first adn sweep all crap to floor to then hoover up....God I am sad!

popsycal · 02/09/2007 20:43

I try to avoid both. But when I dust, I hoover afterwards. Although I hoover way more than I dust. If that makes any sense.

NadineBaggott · 02/09/2007 20:43

dust first

moljam · 02/09/2007 20:44

ivykaty44 · 02/09/2007 20:46

mosschops30 · 02/09/2007 20:47

southeastastra · 02/09/2007 20:47

hoover then dust with a damp sponge haha just to go against the grain

Miaou · 02/09/2007 20:47

If I'm going to do both, then dust first. However I am rarely that organised .

And I don't dust as such, I wipe with a damp cloth as dh has asthma.

glitterchick · 02/09/2007 20:53

I dust first then hoover although they say that you should hoover and then dust. Apparently the hoover gives off loads of dust.

puffylovett · 02/09/2007 20:55

Tortington · 02/09/2007 20:55

Dust with damp cloth then hoover.

LIZS · 02/09/2007 21:01

dust if it needs it (usually does) then hoover.

haychee · 02/09/2007 21:08

Hoover first, otherwise decrepid old hoover chucks out dust and i have to redo the dusting after

NomDePlumeIsIrrationallyAngry · 02/09/2007 21:09

dust first.

Beauregard · 02/09/2007 21:12

Dust first

SlightlyMadSCAREYthing · 02/09/2007 21:17

I very rarely dust. My kitchen and bathroom are clean for hygiene reasons but just can't see the point of dusting other than cosmetic reasons - and I know we a lucky that we have no allergy probs either.

When I do dust I actually dust with hte upholstry brush of my vacuum first so most of it gets sucked up my hover and not spread around room

blossomsmine · 02/09/2007 21:17

I have to dust first so that all the bits and pieces of crap and fluff go on the floor and then i hoover it all up.

Bewilderbeast · 02/09/2007 21:17

dust first, it's totally pointless hoovering and then knocking dust back over the floor

puffylovett · 02/09/2007 21:25

although actually, if there's dead flies on the windowsill and cat hair on the fireplace, i use a hoover attachment to hoover them up and then dust with a wet cloth after.

am v sad

wastingmylife · 02/09/2007 21:30

dust first

Meggymoose · 03/09/2007 14:06

Excellent the concensus seems to be dust first, but only if absolutely necessary - I can go with that!
