Absolutely love mrs Hinch therefore was wondering what's everyone's favourite cleaning hacks?

Does she still recommend using 8 different products to clean the loo, or is it all eBay swipe ups these days?

squaky · 07/02/2020 04:47

I don't need a hack, I just clean without zoflora

Saylwhat · 07/02/2020 04:50

I've heard of this Mrs Hinch. Where is she? On youtube? I'm a Monica type person.

florababy84 · 07/02/2020 05:38

@Saylwhat She's on Instagram, just search for Mrs Hinch!

I'm a massive slob but I like Mrs Hinch's cheerful attitude and her drive, so I like following her.

I just can't imagine spending so much time cleaning!

Saylwhat · 07/02/2020 05:44

I have an instagram account but don't know how to use it as I'm a bit slow lol. I'll have a look and see if I can figure it out.

Saylwhat · 07/02/2020 05:49

Ok there's at least 5 mrs hinch accounts.

I clicked on one that has a blue tick beside it, but all I can see are photographs which seem unrelated to cleaning? As I said, I can't figure instagram out!

pineapple2 · 07/02/2020 06:56

@TannatTart haha yes I think she uses a lot of products on her sink..I don't do that whatsoever, for one I haven't the time but some of what she does is amazing..for example the pink stuff...wow that is fantastic stuff, try in on baking trays that may not be as shiny as you would like..

I didn't mean "hacks" as such more of good idea you may have learnt along the way such as her idea to put fabric conditioner in the sink with boiling water..the smell is amazing..

P.s I don't do Instagram I don't follow her

@Saylwhat she has done videos on you tube but I think she's more of a instagram thing..
That's where I've seen her videos..on you tube.

She seems nice. I do worry about encouraging people to use a shed load of chemicals when we should be using less of this stuff.
Spraying fabric with Zoflora is odd and can’t be good for you.

KindnessCrusader · 07/02/2020 07:08

Fabric conditioner in the sink?! You shouldn't be putting anything but water in the sink, you know that right?!

florababy84 · 07/02/2020 08:37

Presumably soap is 'allowed' in one's sink?

Teacaketotty · 07/02/2020 08:43

She seems nice but she uses so many products because she's paid to use them. I think as long as you remember that it's great she motivates people but the products she's using aren't necessary sometimes.

Please don't spray fabric conditioner or anything of the sort on fabrics to refresh them - its a fire hazard. Just buy a bottle of febreeze.

Nanalisa60 · 07/02/2020 10:39

I like looking at her photos, but having flowers on the hob does make me laugh.

OralBee · 07/02/2020 10:50

Not trying to derail the thread but before anyone follows any of her cleaning tips please google them first. Many have been in the papers and talked about on social media as they’ve caused damage/fires/health problems and many have been warned against by local fire brigades in the papers and on their social media accounts as they’ve caused fires and they are seeing an increase in call outs because of people doing things she has recommended.

pineapple2 · 07/02/2020 11:33

@OralBee I didn't know this. Thanks...I'll definitely google this as a couple of people have said similar things..

@Nanalisa60 I really don’t get why people keep putting vases of flowers on the hob, why not put them somewhere more appropriate so you don’t have to keep moving them each time you cook Confused

sheknows31 · 07/02/2020 17:42

I think she's really funny and I do enjoy watching her stories on Instagram but I would never use the amount of products she does. So bad for the lungs all those fumes. But she's entertaining, I'll give her that Smile

whydoihavetogothroughsomuch · 08/02/2020 16:53

I love Mrs hinch. I get really upset tho she never replies to my comments and I'm encouraging Sad. I loved reading her book. It almost feels like your her friend at the end of it.

Yogawoogie · 08/02/2020 17:14

I love her but I’m a slob so no danger of me over doing it on the chemicals.

OralBee · 08/02/2020 17:29

It’s not just over doing the chemicals that causes problems. Off the top of my heads it’s things like; people putting zoflora down the toilet despite it saying it causes harm and death to marine life (someone said it was fine because she didn’t use it in a dish tank and when someone tried to explain told them to fuck off because she didn’t keep fish down the loo), using the wrong product to wash the wrong things such as people using laundry conditioner to clean ovens... laundry cleaner being sprayed on fabric which damages the fire protection on things like sofas and is a fire hazard and dryer sheets being put in pillows and cushions causing people to react to them. Also placement of decorative items as someone already mentioned she keeps artificial flowers on her hob. Lots of people copied and all over social media you can see things like someone having a pretty blanket folded on the job with a decorative tray and on the tray a vase of flowers, candles and a little ornament or a vase of flowers of a tray with a book a candle and an ornament etc. This has caused fires and fire brigades have been appealing to people on social media not to do it because they’ve had call outs because of this exact thing.

I’m not trying to say no one should watch her, i know people find her very entertaining. I just want people to be aware they should do research on any of the tips they want to use before they do them because so many have caused issues.
