hiding scratches on laminate worktop

fortunately not at home but somewhere that I help run. Some stupid sod has scratched the laminate in the kitchen. It is speckled grey/black and about 20 years old, was immaculate before this despite heavy use. pic attached I hope.

google has gone all American on me with all sorts of suggestions. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to make this look better please? Replacing the worktop not an option and not really necessary.

Marker pen might cover the whiteness of the sctratches.

Or scratches even!

thanks - I also saw what we used to call 'sticky-back plastic' in Wilkinsons today but not sure if that will just look worse!

You get specialist companies that can fix scratches like that for not much.
