Can anyone recommend a brilliant handheld upholstery cleaner gadget?

All of our dining chairs have water marks and generally look a bit grubby, I want some kind of device to spruce them up. Our spare mattress is stained too, and I'd like something for emergency carpet spot cleaning.

This one seems like a good price but has mixed reviews.

Any recommendations?
