Dehumidifier recomendations?

DeathMetalMum · 21/01/2020 17:43

Finally given in that we need a dehumidifier. Are there any decent ones that don't break the bank? I was heading to pick one up today from screwfix and it's no longer in stock. My only essential need is a laundry setting as that is the main problem.

This thread is a bit old now, but if you've landed here looking for recommendations, we've recently updated our best dehumidifiers round-up, full of products tried, tested and recommended by Mumsnet users.

I was in screwfix earlier, they were selling dehumidifiers at £99 and £109, and plenty in stock (all lined up behind the tills!)

Do they have an order/delivery service?

Alternatively I got mine from Aldi (middle aisle job!) but obviously that's only as and when ...

The one I was looking at was collection only and there are none left in my store. There was the other day when I first looked! How do you find the aldi one? I see lots of people recommending meaco and ebac but they're quite expensive!

I like it and its been a godsend for drying clothes... It has a timer and a specific clothes drying option...
Think I paid about £110 for it last September/October? I got lucky as they were in store about the time I was looking (couldn't afford to spend loads! Ie £200ish!) Got a three year guarantee too!
I'd seen them before too... not sure how often they come up... depends on how quick you want/need one..

We've got an Ebac, had it about 2 years and it's great.

I’ve got an ebac one and it’s very good. I got it a few years ago, and don’t use it that often but it’s very useful for days in winter when it’s very cold and damp.

I bought an ebac one. I needed to be quick as I didn't have time to allow for delivery as the washing was stacking up. It was available for pick up from local b&q so far so good. Very impressed and has helped so much with drying washing, even though we don't leave it on overnight.

I got mine off Gumtree. Half price.
Meaco 20L.
You can leave it on continuously (until the tank fills up), or set it to turn off at the desired humidity level.
