Dryer on top of counter?

Has anyone else got a dryer on top of their counter?

I'd like to buy a dryer but dont really have the space for it. I was chatting to a guy who fixed my washing machine and he seemed to think it would be fine to put it on counter? I'm concerned about the weight, but I suppose when I look at the weight of a dryer its half of mine....

I'm not concerned about the aesthetics as it's in a utility room!

It’s fine, they are not very heavy. Mine sits on top of the washing machine. Just make sure it doesn’t move.

My mum and dad have their dryer on the counter in the utility room. They have done for years. It makes the room nice and warm and the cat likes it

I have an offcut of worktop sat on my washer and dryer on top of that. Wouldn't put it on a worktop which didn't have cupboards under it as Id be worried about the weight.

Thanks all, that's reassured me!

There are cupboards underneath although I'd be putting it above where the washing machine slots in.

Washing machines have a concrete block in them for stability. Dryers don't - it'll be fine.

Mine is on a sturdy wooden shelf ( built when I had the utility room done ) there's about 14" space between the top of the WM and the shelf .
It does mean I need a stepstool to fish the last of the dry laundry out though !

yes, works fine. Just make sure you get one with the condenser at the bottom so it is easy to reach (Normally you want it at the top for floor standing dryers)

it is washing machines that are really heavy due to the concrete weight, a dryer should be fine on a properly installed worktop.
