Help dog has done a wee on new velvet sofa

Just got my new grey velvet sofa delivered and like a fool popped out forgetting that my dog loves to scent everything new. Have cleaned with suds from dishwashing liquid but still smells awful. What can I do?

We use a spray from Tesco that neutralises the odour so you can bear to be in the room, and he's not drawn back to do it again. It's in the pet aisle, works like 1001.

You can sprinkle bi carb on the stain and leave it to dry overnight then Hoover off in the morning. If there's a residue smell you can try mixing a white vinegar and bi carb paste and treat the stain as above,although I'd patch test this in an inconspicuous place to check for colour fastness.
Don't worry about the smell of white vinegar as this disappears as it evaporates.

Thanks Willow, Will go to Tescos and look for the pet spray and if that doesn't work try Muthafunks suggestion. Such a crap crisis I know but thankyou both for responding making me feel calmer about the whole thing.

If it really isn't working, did you pay for care package? If not you can call someone like Castelan directly to clean it, they price per seat, but last time we used them they gave the whole sofa a once over without extra cost.

B&m also sell pet odour sprays/upholstery/carpet spray so may be worth a shot?

So quick update - I have a handheld clothes steamer and used that with a bit of scented water for irons in it and that seems to have done the trick. Am off to buy spray as suggested though just in case. Got sofa off of eBay so no care package but good to know about Castelan. Many thanks everyone.
