washing a Quickstep Laminate floor

Has anyone got a Quickstep Laminate floor? I've just had one installed and I love it but am scared to use supermarket cleaner on it. The specialist cleaning fluid that Quickstep sell is £20 a bottle and I'm wondering what other people do? Please could you tell me what you use if you have this flooring. Thank you!

I don't have that one, but had laminate for years. Basically it doesn't need much cleaning at all. You know airport cleaners? With the wide flat head? You use those dry for a basic dust through. If you want to mop, use a damp flat mop head, spray some basic surface cleaner on it and mop. The floor stays practically dry, which is important, but the damp mop head and cleanser gets any actual dirt off.

I've just looked it up!! What a con. No need for that stuff. Any flat mop will do a good job.

I've had Quickstep flooring for years. Mostly I sweep, but every now and then I mop the floor. I just use a normal mop and have never had a problem. Didn't in my old house either - which also had Quickstep flooring.

I have Quickstep laminate. I’m really pleased with it. It’s mopped weekly and looks good as new 18 months after installing it. I had no idea they even made a specialist cleaning fluid Blush

I've got Quickstep & it looks as good as new after 10 years. I mop it once a week (or so!) & I dilute Lemon Flash about 30/1 water & flash (mostly water) & spray that onto the flat mop head. About once a year I get down on hands & knees & do it with the same mix but with a wrung out micro fibre cloth.

hoover regularly and for cleaning a damp mop and all purpose cleaner is all you need.
wring the mop so it's as dry as possible and open a window so it dries quickly.

Fabulous! Thank you all for your replies! Flash (or supermarket's own brand) it is then!! Smile
