We have wooden work tops in our kitchen, around the sink area the wood is discoloured and black, as you can see. Does anyone have any miracle solution?! I have Osmo oil for when it’s in a better state!

Oxalic acid.

We had this in our old house. We sanded it about once a year and it was as good as new. I'd never have a wooden draining board again though!

We moved to a house with wooden kitchen work tops which were very similar around the sink. I sanded them down and you wouldn’t of even known it was like it! Shortly ripped them out though and replaced the worktops.

It’s where the wood is starting to rot. All you can do is remove the surface of the wood by sanding or using chemicals.
