Crazy knotty hair

So I have really knotty hair, it never used to be like this, does anyone else have this problem?

My hair is longer than it has been in the past so I'm thinking this could be why and also I havnt had a hair cut for a while so maybe once I cut it this may help

But it's insanely knotty, I'm wondering if maybe I should use some sort of hair mask regularly or something?

I normally just use shampoo and conditioner and it's fine 🤔

How often do you wash it? What's products do you use? Herbal essences, Supadrug own brand or a salon quality shampoo?
How do you style it?
Do you brush it before bedtime?
Have you tried using a decent leave-in conditioner on the mid lengths and ends rather than a wash out conditioner?
If it's very dry and has split ends, you need to get it trimmed.

I wash my hair 2-3 times per week, I use evvive shampoo which I need to use for flakey scalp, I was using treseme conditioner then went back to herbal essence to see if it would help.

I didn't think of leave in conditioner as I used to use a kids one on my daughter that felt tacky to touch after, if there are any good ones perhaps I should try that

I think a cut is need tho so will try to book in soon

Mine went like this in the last year after having my son. I attributed it to also not having a cut for about 10 months. Having a trim has definitely helped and it is less knotty, a leave in conditioning spray helps. I use the Aussie one.

Can be a sign of thyroid problems. If you are busy are you brushing enough? I gave the same problem. A cut helps but the knots come back quickly.
