Anyone else doing a huge clean/tidy/declutter today?

Just got home two nights ago after being away for two weeks and today is my big day for sorting out the house. I actually left it looking reasonably tidy but for some reason it’s now looking like an explosion has taken place - I think it’s the half unpacked suitcases, huge mess in kitchen, etc. I can already see that I am not going to get everything that I want to get done today but I will do my best!

A friend is coming over in 2 hours to help me take down the Christmas decorations and into storage .
I am halfway through chemotherapy and she asked if there was anything she could do !
It’s earlier than normal for me but tomorrow is chemo day and then I am flat for a while . The tree is being picked up for recycling early on Sunday 5th by our local hospice .
The house itself is fine and all the decorations went up slowly and I could cope but the thought of taking them down !
Just need to strip DD’s bed as she went back to London on New Year’s Eve .
@frustratedashell pi am so pleased your dd was delighted with her flat . I have the same relationship with my other dd !

Can you come and do my house too, pretty please?😁

Hi Trumpton, hope your chemo goes ok. I offered to do my sons flat as well, try to treat them the same!
He declined! Lol
Willow, I'm a cleaner and love cleaning! I'm not working today, client is away, so will probably attack my own flat! Lol
If you lived near me I would come. I'm in Sussex

Aww thanks but just a tiny but too far away I am in Scotland 🤣

That is a bit of a jaunt, Willow!

I did a huge declutter before the Christmas break (toys clothes and cleaner out all kitchen cupboards). My mission is to make scrapbooks and sort photos- print and put in albums this month. The house has stayed relatively tidy and tonight I will mop floors and put away the rest of the decorations. I need to sort toiletries and Hoover but that can wait until tomorrow

Having to do another massive tidy and sort after the first one on New Year's Day. DDs birthday has given us more cardboard to take to the tip and some more toys to find homes for.

Want to get everything nice for back to school/work on Monday

Tidied both boys rooms today and removed about 17 days worth of crockery from DD's.

This weekend: tidy the board games cupboard; tidy Ds's desktop as he has all his 'saved lego' on there but actually it's just everything he's ever made from Lego ever a mess; help dd be ruthless and clear some clothes so she can use her limited storage for the things she currently wears rather than stuff she never wears!

All the charity shop stuff has gone along with rag bags and rubbish/recycling.
Kitchen blitzed yesterday and decluttered. More space on worktop now. Old holey t towels out and new ones in (bought in sale)
Did drawers in my bed today and pile of old clothes for rag bag.

Have huge box of glass still in car because every bottle bank in the area is overflowing! Can't recycle the broken plastic box till.i get rid of the bottles.😁
