have tried everything to get rid of the yuck stained limescale on our loo (was on the loo when we moved in btw)

Can't afford to change the loo at the moment- Is there anything i can use. Have tried denture tablets, coca cola, bleach, cillit bang

Squeeze a few lemons down it & scrub with the lemon & bicarb of soda then leave for a few hours. may take a few gos but lemon is a fab de-limer (if there is such a word )

Kim and Aggie recommend gently rubbing it/chipping away at it with a pumice stone. It works too -we live in a hard water area and get limescale build up so I bought a pumice stone especially for the job

Dh has said he doesn't mind getting his hands in the loo- eeekkkkk but never mind he's a bloke.

We have our own septic tank so don't think I'll go with the sirit of salts option for now- shall try the pumice stone and lemon juice for now. Thanks all xx

I have just done mine with harpic 100% limescale remover.

You will need gloves as the stuff is nuclear. But I am sure it said it was fine for septic tanks.

I used an old plastic cup to scoop all the water out of the bowl then actually dried it with toilet roll so there was no dilution.

Put the stuff all round and used gloved hands to wipe it all around. Periodically throughout day went back and removed the lumps of limescale that had come loose and again recoated toilet with the harpic that had drained down into the bowl.

I should point out that this was the en-suite so I could use the main bathroom toilet

It is now sparkly clean (if that can be said about a 15 year old 'caramel' coloured toilet) hmm must get round to saving up to change that suite, am tired of cleaning gold taps
