Can you recommend me a cordless handheld vacuum cleaner?

Budget is £100 max. The Dyson is too pricey but I've heard good things about the Shark, which is available for £99 now, but are cheaper ones like Vax and B&D any good? Amazon has several for around £25 but they're brands I've never heard of!

Any recommendations?

I was going to come on and say don't buy the Dyson. I've had ours a year and it continually needs new parts.

I have heard good things about the shark, but if I'm honest, when the Dyson dies properly I'm buying a Miele corded.

I have 3 Bosch cordless but all of them die after a couple of years.

I'm considering a shark too.

It's a little one to clean up under the table after DS's dinner etc that I'm after, not one of the cordless stick vacuums. Shark have 2 models - one that runs for 8 mins and another that goes for 16, which is pricier, but I think 8 is enough for small spills.

I am looking for one too! I have found one on amazon with very good reviews which can be used as a tall vaccum or as a handheld one, I want it for the stairs as I am sick of lugging henry up half way, having to run down, plug him out, run upstairs and plug him in up there to hoover the rest. Pain in the butt! The only downside is the cordless ones from what I see usually only last 15-20 minutes on full charge, although for me since it's just for the stairs it's ideal.

Amazon have a good selection the one I am looking at is £129.99 and it's called the Hosome Cordless Vacuum Cleaner 160W 2 in 1 Handheld Upright Stick Cleaner 20000Pa, but they also have a cheaper version forHosome Cordless Vacuum Cleaner 160W 2 in 1 Handheld Upright Stick Cleaner 20000Pa 92£, and other brands on amazon from 72£, so it's worth having a browse!!

My mum had a dyson which she bought and paid off weekly but she wasn't very impressed with it and it broke in the end! Although alot of people have good things to say about them, for me personally I couldn't justify spending that much on a hoover! lol

Best of luck :)

oops I acidentally pasted the name of the hoover I am interested in twice and I can't seem to edit it! sorry for any confusion! lol

I have a Dyson cylinder which is great but it's bloody heavy and I can't be bothered lugging it out for a 2 min cleanup job after dinner!

Be careful of Amazon reviews. Many are fake.

I have a GTech one, which is pricey enough for what it is, but when the switch went recently, I just bought and fitted another. It's ideal for dustpan and brush tasks.

We just bought the £99 hand held Shark . Very impressed !

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/01/2020 18:56

It looks very small and compact too @Trumpton which is selling it to me. I have some Amazon vouchers due to arrive soon so I think it'll be the Shark for me! I see it went down as low as £80 last year but I doubt we'll see that price again.

I also like it as you do not need to keep the switch depressed . A simple on off button is much easier to use .
