Got a lovely yellow chair from ikea only a couple of months ago..last night by daughter knocked over her red nail varnish and its left a line (thin) of red nail varnish on the chair!! Ive tried nail varnish remover to no avail (at least the settee is colour fast so it didnt damage it) ANY idea of anything else that might work? Or is it yet another bit of furniture damaged by pesky kids?

Window and glass spray worked for me when I got nail polish on my carpet. Dont ask me why it works or what made me think to use it!!

ooh thank you! Will try that - maybe its the vinegar in it? Ive chucked everything else on it and nothings worked so will try that now!

Youre lucky OP, I burned a hole in a skirt trying to get nail varnish off it with nail polish remover.
I loved that skirt. Sad

Wd 49 got it out of my carpet when I accidentally dropped a bottle and didn't realise until it had all leaked out. Confused

Wd-40 sorry

Hairspray, water and a nail brush got bright green nail varnish out of a cream carpet.

Just keep spraying and wetting and scrubbing. Took a while though!

I wanted that yellow chair in ikea. It’s beautiful-hope you get the polish out.
