I rootle about around the edges every so often to find missing flip flop/wooden block/fork etc. Does that count?

Oooh in our house the grand clearing-out of under the sofa is a great cause for celebreation! I do it about once a month, and there is always, without fail, a single sock ("Oh! So that's where it went!"), some jigsaw pieces, some unidentified plastic bits of broken toy, at least one of ds's die-cast Thomas trains (cue joyous re-union) and an assortment of rasins, apple peel and hairbands.

The dc bounce around on the sofas while I sift through the treasures (amazing how moving the sofas to a different part of the room suddenly makes them fun ) then we get out all the jigsaws that can suddenly be completed. Aaaah - what more could you ask of a rainy-afternoon activity?

I vowed to do it once a week aswell, like you i didn't stick to it! I have laminated floors and the dust is amazing! I also have two dogs, who are clean but obviously add to the dust/hair, yeuck!!!
I always feel so pleased with myself once it is done though!!

My sofa has a good 6cm+ clearance from the ground so all of DD3 (16m) balls and shape sorter pieces end up under there within a day of clearing it out.

I get a broom and pull all of the balls and stuff out about once a week (otherwise she would have non to play with !!!).

I havn't moved sofa to hoover under it since we had it new about 18m ago (well we may have done the 2 seeter as we moved it to put XMas tree up).

It is too heavy for me to move alone and DP doesn't seem to be around when I am hoovering. I did say the other day it needed doing though as there was lots of dust coming out as I scooped the balls out...

I do it as part of my Tuesday night thorough clean downstairs - but on a rotating schedule with hoovering picture rails etc (god I sound anal) so about every month I guess...is that bad?

I thought today that I must clean out under the sofas.. as when I was hoovering I noticed tons of crap under them I will do it when I get my 'nesting' period lol.

every sunday. the joy of laminate flooring, slippy slide. i usually find:

10 fluff balls.
1 sock coated in fluff.
1 jigsaw piece coated in fluff.
1 unidentified sticky thing.
2 sweets (different).
1 small toy car (think kinder egg size).
1 hair bobble.
1 page from a mr. men book.

the remote control.

Looking at my post of last night it sounds like I do it once a week as well.

No nono I was saying I was shocked at once a week!

Have to say mine is not usually that bad but then we have carpet not laminate.

Pls don't admire me ladies - I have been away all day, got back 9.30pm and cannot be bothered to do today's cleaning, not even the ironing!
