Help! How do I get blood stains out of a futon?

DS1 slept on the sleepover bed last night and had a MAJOR nose bleed. He slept through it and appeared this morning looking like something out of Hammer House of Horror. Have got the blood out of the sheets but don't know how to get it off the lilac futon it has soaked through to. Any ideas?

Thanks. Have scrubbed with soap and rinsed and some improvement but can't get rid of the 'ring' around the edge. Off to try with salty water.

If the salty water didn't work might be worth rubbing with Vanish, leaving for a while and then sponging again.
